Coachella Crush

Along with the other hundreds and something of people, the one place I would have rather been this last weekend was (take a wild guess)... COACHELLA!! One of the first Festivals to kick off the festival season, and probably the coolest one of all, I would have done anything to attend. But in reality that just wasn't going to happen, so I resorted to Twitter and the gossip blogs to get my dose of Coachella Festival style. I spent my weekend refreshing my Twitter feed waiting for anything #Coachella to pop up(which really didn't help my jealousy levels at all), mainly to try and find what the young, hot 20 something's were wearing this year, and who did it better than anyone else this time.. yes, Kate Bosworth!
Kate hit the nail right on the head this year with her effortless festival style, but when you think about it we wouldn't expect anything more or less from her.
Hunter Wellies, Military Jacket combined with Boho chiqueness, the classic Festival Style but Kate manages to make it her own and ultra cool all at the same time. My favrouite look by far over the weekend has to be the animal print top paired with simple black embellished shorts, not to forget the super cute Mulberry Bag she wore to the Mulberry Firepit Party.
I know i'll be using Miss Bosworth as my festival inspiration this year :).

For the meanwhile, here are some of my other Coachella style winners.

Zanna Roberts Rassi

Planet Blue. x Foam Magazine

A california desert + Boho inspired styling + Gillian Zinser= Pure GENIUS!!!

Planet Blue could'nt have hit this one any better for Coachella's lookbook this year with x Foam Magazine.
My jaw literally dropped as I gazed my eyes on this lookbook for the first time, everything from the styling, the desert surroundings, to the amazing photography just oozed amazingness!
I don't think there is one thing I could pick at in this lookbook, but only Zinser herself could pull off those badboy tie-dye flares and still look cool with her flawless body and surfer babe attitude.
This shoot has really embodied the Coachella festival spirit, full of heat, boho chique-ness and FUN! I've got my eye on the Slayer logo tee, floral cross over skirt, fringed kimono AND not to forget the stunning cluster of turquoise jewellery by Alushia-Sanchia.
Get me to Coachellaaaa!!

P.S; Gillian Zinser is my new style crush!

Let me know what you think,

Company Casting Call with River Island

I haven't really entered a competition in a while, I always come across these fun looking ones but never actually bother to enter them, simply because I can be a bit of a lazy bum and mainly the standard reason of; 'AS IF i'm gonna win that'! But after reading the latest issue of Company magazine and seeing that they had teamed up with River Island for the annual Company Casting Call competition, I thought it was too good to miss. So thanks to my dear boyfriend shoving the competiton page in my face, I finally entered my first competition of 2012!
The finalists of the competition are narrowed down to the 12 girls with the most 'Likes' on their picture, and then goes on to the Company magazine judges who decide on the final 6 who will appear in May's issue.
A LOT of girls have entered as you can imagine but I thought I might as well give it a shot and see what happens.. So please 'LIKE' 'LIKE' 'LIKE' on the link below!!

Fingers crossed, thank yooou xx

Summer Vibes

So with the weather being so beautifully sunny this weekend I could'nt help myself but get excited about summer (yes I know its about half a year away but what else am I supposed to think about during this boring month), and what better band to listen to on a sunny day than Best Coast. I cannot thank my friend enough for introducing me to this band, I seriously can't get enough of them! If you're into a laid back 60's kind of vibe then you'll LOVE this band, perfect for when you just want to chill out or just want some easy listening on a lovely summer's day.
'Boyfriend' which I have linked above is one of my favrouites, along with 'Crazy for You' and 'Each And Every Day'.
Have a listen!

I want candy!

One of the only things that seems to get me through the dull and boring months of January and February is the thought that soon I can re-vamp my wardrobe ready for Spring! Even though it hasn't been as cold as last winter, I've had enough of suffocating myself in chunky knits and wooly scarves and just throwing on hooodies because its just the easiest thing when its blowing a gale outside!
So I think it's time to bring in the lighter clothes and a serious splash of colour, and what better way to do this than with Spring/Summer's Ultragirl trend! I'm not at all a girly girl, you won't see me walking around wearing prim and pretty dresses full of pleats and frills but when it comes to the pastel shades i'm a big fan. There are so many different colours to choose from, all the way from a sherbert yellow to soft lime and to one of my favrouites, a sugary pink. And Asos prove my point exactly with a whole range of colours in their Candy section, I found myself spoilt for choice with pages of jeans, high waisted shorts, skinny belts and cute headbands in a whole variety of Pastel shades!

But now the problem is, which colour skinny jean do I go for? I'm loving the Asos candy blue jean at the moment :)

Glitz with Knits

I could not believe my eyes when Selena Gomez stepped out on stage wearing these BEAUTIES on this year's EMA's! I've been looking for the perfect pair of sequin shorts for this festive season, and as soon as I saw Miss Gomez wearing this glitzy pair I knew I needed them in my life and started looking like crazy for them! I soon found out that they were a good old Topshop buy, but not to my suprise they had sold out within minutes of being launched!

The Topshop pair were just too hard to get hold of, not a chance of getting them online and no sight of them in any of the shops I could get to so my hunt continued! I was quite shocked with myself that I liked the Topshop pair so much, I'm not a very glam, glitzy person and that pair were exactly that!
So I decided to tone it down a bit and started looking for a dull gold sequin, and this Zara pair are the perfect match. The best thing about dulled out sequins is that you can wear them for a night out but at the same time you can dress them right down for casual wear and throw on a thick knitted jumper with them which is my favrouite combination this season!
Hopefully my dear mother will pop this pair in my stocking this christmas and I can post this look soon :).

Cockle Shell Barbie

This last September I was faced with what I can only describe as a 'mid life crisis'... UNIVERSITY! I know it may sound a little dramatic, but I think everyone has at least one moment in their life where they've described it as such a crisis!
I always thought Uni was what I definitely wanted to do after completing my Art Foundation, and successfully got into my first choice at The University of Salford to study Fashion Styling and Image Making. I was beyond excited at the thought of studying this amazing course, so excited that I blanked out the reality of University, moving away from home and moving to the city. I absolutely LOVE Manchester, but you could not find a bigger contrast moving there from living in a little village in North Wales! I had never felt so claustrophobic living in my little uni room in the middle of Salford/Manchester where all I could see out through my window was miles and miles of buildings where as at home i'm used to looking out to miles and miles of beach and sea! I then realised how much I took that view for granted!
I was then faced with the most difficult decision of my life.. Stick it out being a student or to come home and re-think my future? I shortly realised that University and being stuck in a city really wasn't for me, and there was no point staying there if I was going to be depressed everyday trying to please other people!

(Sorry for that little ramble) But the main reason for this post was so I could show you the first piece of work I did during my very short stay at Uni. So this first project was a sort of 'ice braker' project for our first week at Uni, a way of introducing ourselves to each other by producing a doll showing where we come from. So I went along with the boho chique/beach babe of a barbie! Its a simple outfit but my favrouite and most fun item is the shell embelished, high waisted skirt I made for her with hand picked shells.
Maybe this could be the new fashion statement in Barbie world?
